Sellen’s Third Largest Concrete Mat Pour

The third largest concrete mat pour in Sellen history went without a hitch on May 7, thanks to the efforts of the 8th and Howell project crew. In just 13 hours, 153 field personnel, 904 trucks and nine pumps placed 9,034 cubic yards of concrete at the site.

Even with the Alaskan Way Viaduct closure on the day of the pour, the project started and finished on time. The team worked with Stoneway Concrete and SDOT ahead of time to come up with new, efficient truck routes during the mat pour.
