Tony Peebles Completes UBC Superintendent Training

Recently, Assistant Superintendent Tony Peebles graduated from the United Brotherhood of Carpenters (UBC) Superintendent Career Training located in Las Vegas, Nev. This is a two-year training program with a focus on preparing union Journeyman members to take the next step in their careers toward becoming superintendent. Some of the training topics include construction means and methods, software programs and personnel management. Through this program, Tony gained a strong understanding of the expectations required of him to become a superintendent.

Tony’s favorite part of the training was the opportunity to get away from his day-to-day schedule, allowing him to focus personal and professional growth. He also enjoyed meeting other construction professionals from across the country and throughout the Pacific Northwest.

When asked for advice for anyone who would like to go through the program, Tony said to find a mentor that is able to commit the time needed to complete the program, and will challenge you and hold you accountable along the way.

“If you stop learning, you stop growing,” Tony said. “Don’t take the easy road; make sure you’re challenging yourself every day. Make sure you’re willing to commit the time, not just ‘check the box’ to get through it.”
