Seattle Art Museum’s Olympic Sculpture Park Turns 10

Since its grand opening in 2007, the Seattle Art Museum’s Olympic Sculpture has hosted millions of visitors, 25 permanent art installations from world-renowned artists and 15 special exhibitions. And if that isn’t enough, it also serves as the largest green space in downtown Seattle and features stunning views of the Olympic Mountains across the Puget Sound.

Sellen partnered with SAM a decade ago to build the 9-acre park, transforming what had been an industrial site into a stunning open space for art that the public can enjoy year-round (though we do recommend bringing an umbrella should you choose to visit in the winter or spring).

To celebrate its 10th year, SAM pulled out all the stops for its annual Party in the Park fundraiser on June 24. The event featured culinary treats from some of the city’s best chefs and performances from up-and-coming Seattle musician Grace Love and local legend Sir-Mix-A-Lot.

Join us in wishing a happy birthday to the Olympic Sculpture park! We can’t wait to see what’s next for the park.
