Safety First: Key Programs at Every Jobsite
No matter how big or small the project, safety is front and center at every Sellen project. We work hard every day to be the safest contractor in the country, and we have established a culture of safety excellence among our employees and subcontractors. Here are a few of the key safety elements you’ll find on every Sellen job site:
Daily Huddle
The superintendent meets daily with the foremen for each trade to review safety items specific to that day, especially regarding upcoming activities requiring special coordination.
Monday Morning Safety Huddle
This weekly meeting covers general and task-specific safety procedures, an overview of the week’s activities, and any recent safety issues. All subcontractors are required to attend our meeting or hold their own to cover these topics.
Pre-Task Planning
We require subcontractors and crews to put together a pre-task planner, ensuring that every activity has a specific safety plan in place. Items of note include potential hazards, precautions, proper tool use methods, and appropriate protective equipment.
