Advanced MEP Coordination at 501 Fairview
The team at the 501 Fairview tenant improvement project worked closely with a wide variety of mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) subcontractors. During preconstruction, Sellen’s team held regular clash detection meetings with four MEP subcontractors, identifying any potential issues and creating an itemized list with action items to complete prior to the next meeting.
Between meetings, each subcontractor would submit revised CAD drawings to reflect the changes discussed, ensuring that all parties were using the most up-to-date information. This highly collaborative process was repeated for every floor, preventing the need for rework and establishing essential communication channels. This advanced level of coordination helped keep the project on schedule and within its budget.
