2nd and Pike Reaches Topping-Out Milestone

On Thursday, August 10, the team at 2nd and Pike celebrated a major milestone yesterday when they completed the 39th floor, the top level of the new building.

Located in the heart of the downtown business district, the new building, soon to be known as the West Edge Tower, will be home to 340 residential units. Crews started work in July 2015 and are on track to complete the project in Spring 2018.

The building will offer its tenants a number of amenities, including a premium gym and an 8th floor “skybar,” featuring cubes with glass bottoms that will allow for unobstructed views of the surrounding area, including the iconic Pike Place Market (and its new MarketFront expansion).

“I don’t ever forget how these buildings get built – it’s all of you that make it happen,” said Greg Smith of Urban Visions to the assembled crew at the topping-out ceremony. “It’s going to be an iconic building for Seattle.”

Sellen partnered with developer Urban Visions, Tom Kundig of Olson Kundig Architects, and Ankrom Moisan on this one-of-a-kind residential masterpiece.
