Memorial Stadium Construction Updates

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY

  • Beginning July 1, 2025, the Memorial Stadium team will establish construction boundaries around the project.
  • Following the July 4 holiday weekend, removal of the existing field, soft demolition and abatement will begin.
  • Structural demolition is scheduled to begin during the third week of July, once the Memorial Wall has been fully protected.
  • Construction hours will be between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. This activity will result in construction noise from vactor trucks, saw cutting, core hole drilling, heavy equipment and dump trucks.

Sidewalk Closures
Republican St. and 4th Ave N. sidewalks will be closed on both sides of the street from 5th Ave N to Mercer St. The sidewalk along Harrison St will be narrowed down as hard barriers are installed.

Traffic Closures
Republican Street and 4th Ave N will be closed to through traffic west of the Seattle Center parking lot exit. A new traffic signal will be installed to manage eastbound traffic, allowing vehicles to safely exit the parking lot onto 5th Ave N.

Sellen is partnering with Seattle Center, Seattle Public Schools, MSR, and Generator Studios to redevelop
Memorial Stadium for a capacity of 8,000 attendees. The facility will feature four equal-sized locker
rooms, covered stands, ticket booths, team training facilities, dedicated spaces for officials and coaches,
concession areas, restrooms, first aid and guest services, a synthetic turf field with cork infill, a press box and coaches’ booth, city shop and warehouse space, and restoration of the Memorial Wall.
