John Sellen's Philosophy of Leadership

John Sellen's dependability and work ethic contributed to his reputation as a first-class construction professional. But it was his good judgment of people that put him at the top. As the company grew, John carefully hand picked his leadership. Leadership in the company was a natural outgrowth of John's insistence in surrounding himself with good people. "I got where I am because I always hire people smarter than me," John was often known to quip.

Since John's leadership days, Sellen has been a part of some pretty amazing changes in tools and technology that have helped to shape our industry and our community. But in terms of leadership philosophy, things haven't changed much around here since 1944.
